IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.
The Honors Professional Admissions Program (HPA) builds on IUPUI's tradition of academic excellence and provides a pathway to graduate or professional study at IUPUI for exceptional students. Through a highly selective admissions process, high school seniors may apply for admission to both an undergraduate program as well as a graduate or professional program offered within participating departments and schools. The degrees presently offered by participating school and departments are:
Students must meet the criteria specified by each graduate or professional program in order to qualify for certification into that program upon completion of the bachelor's degree. Once enrolled, students will work closely with their academic and honors advisors to ensure they meet these requirements.
HPA students are full members of the IUPUI Honors College and, at a minimum, will receive an Academic Excellence Scholarship as well as an IUPUI Honors Scholarship. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the Bepko Scholars and Fellows Program, the Herbert Presidential Scholarship Program, and the Plater Distinguished Scholars Program as well.
Students who begin as undergraduates in the program but do not meet the specified requirements for certification into the graduate or professional degree will not be allowed to matriculate directly into that program, although they may seek admission to that degree through the normal application process. Should their academic or career aspirations change, students may choose to leave the program. In this instance, they must apply for regular admission for any other graduate or professional degree offered at IUPUI.
