The IUPUI (now IU Indianapolis) campus stood out to Hannah when she toured, and she says that the biology program and the campus and honors college resources for students sealed the deal for her. Her goal as a Bepko Scholar is to provide help to those who need it. Hannah is most passionate about the prevention and minimization of substance abuse. In high school, she was involved in Citizens Against Substance Abuse (CASA). Hannah helped to create comprehensive plans to reduce substance abuse and organized a day-long event where eighth graders learned about substance abuse, how to help others who are struggling, and how to say no to peer pressure. Hannah also attended an IASC summer camp where she fundraised for Riley Children’s Hospital and hosted a carnival to promote mental health awareness. Hannah will be majoring in biology and looks forward to making a difference through volunteerism.
