Gabi chose to attend IU Indianapolis because of its campus environment and that it is a short distance away from home. Gabi says that “being a Bepko Scholar is a huge blessing.” Gabi has always been a hard worker and receiving this scholarship shows her that her hard work has paid off. Helping people is very important to Gabi and she plans on doing that at IU Indianapolis. In high school, Gabi volunteered as a coach for a sixth-grade girls basketball team and volunteered in a second-grade class every morning for a year. Both the experiences formed the person she is today and its meaningful for her to know that she has impacted the people around her. Gabi’s family are the most importantly people to her and have made her who she is today. After college, she hopes to be a second-grade teacher that travels in the summer. In her free time, she loves basketball and has played it for eight years.
